Duke of Alba Bible: Jonah cast into the sea and at Nineveh

In the upper panel, Jonah is cast into the sea straight into the mouth of a fish. On the right, he is spewed from the whale’s mouth onto land. In the lower panel on the left, Jonah sits next to a castor plant outside the city of Nineveh. On the right, the king of Nineveh kneels in repentance in front of his throne, having doffed his crown, while his subjects stand in sack cloth.
